While the Trump Administration uses tax dollars to buy jets for cabinet members, forces security details to play uber for partying family members, accepts billions from foreign governments and mishandles millions in SNAP funds, the Republican led Congress is on vacation- giving up their Constitutional duty to oversee the government. Erik is sick of Republicans breaking every law to bow and scrape before a corrupt fascist, and sick of the Democrats who let them do it, and decline to fight. 

The moment we are facing calls for something more than normal solutions. Our current laws have simply not worked and a new generation of lawmakers need to bring ideas to the table that ensure sturdier guardrails that offer real clarity, enforcement and transparency. 

All three branches of government are propping up a broken system that has enabled a historic level of corruption unseen in the United States. In Congress, Erik will fight to put an end to this using every available lever to #DefundDonald and turn of the spigot that enables Trump’s corruption: 

• Call for the creation of a special oversight committee with subpoena power that will also hold hearings to spotlight the staggering level of corruption in the Trump administration and identify the individuals who enable it, agency by agency, along with the loopholes that let it proceed 

• Require hearings and subpoenas for all Federal Law Enforcement agencies including ICE and the FBI to answer for their actions under the Trump administration and calling for prosecution for any illegal actions 

• Introduce legislation to tie ICE’s hands and ensure that tax payer dollars cannot be abused to empower their campaign and fear and terror that regularly targets  US citizens, or undocumented people and their children, who have committed no crime

• Work with House Leadership to begin hearings with the Government Oversight Committee to recover the billions of missing tax dollars from SNAP, DOGE and other Executive Branch agencies 

• Introduce legislation to increase and strengthen penalties which ensure that Presidents, their cabinets, and their families cannot prosper off of government positions or proximity, including barring no-bid contracts, barring the federal government from owning or investing in companies or corporations with any financial stake held by officials or their families; or pursuing or closing business deals with foreign nations

• Stop the Trump Administration from making structural changes to any federal buildings without Congressional approval and oversight. No more Billionaire Ballrooms in the People’s House
